"Halfway around the world, Mr. Bush cannot escape the race to succeed him.

...outside of town, at the Mwenge Village market, Theresa Maridadi, 62, was seated with a newspaper in her lap, debating the Democrats with her son, Lucas Kahtoza, who lit up at the mention of Mr. Obama’s name and put his hand to his chest.

'Remember, Obama is from Africa,' he said. 'From my heart, it is good.'"

Change that even Tanzanians can believe in.
I am having a most miserable day but this sentence made it better:

"Before America became a proud land of drooling illiterate halfwits (1981), all U.S. citizens knew the basic story of George Washington, who led the terrorist insurrection against the Tory Empire and eventually seized control of the United States just as modern-day terrorists hope to win the presidency in November."
I think that eating meat is dumb.

I am fond of semicolons.

The top 3 political best sellers are written by idiots and #4 is a joke.

My personal favorite:
"3. Liberal Fascism, by Jonah Goldberg. (Doubleday, $27.95.) This “alternative history of American liberalism … reveals its roots in, and commonalities with, classical fascism.”

Suck it, Goldberg:

Liberalism: a political or social philosophy advocating the freedom of the individual, parliamentary systems of government, nonviolent modification of political, social, or economic institutions to assure unrestricted development in all spheres of human endeavor, and governmental guarantees of individual rights and civil liberties.
Fascism: a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.

What? What the fuck? I mean how could he, in any possible way, have a point? Is he talking about American liberalism? The type of liberalism that his its root in the enlightenment? I understand that fascists like Hitler and Mussolini were not conservative, but they were not liberals in any sense. Just look at the fucking definitions you asshole. I don't even have time for this.

By the way, not only is this guy totally wrong, but this his what he actually looks like:

Dumbass.

"Caucuses normally work fine because somewhere around the New Hampshire primary, the presidential nominees usually become a foregone conclusion. Then the only job for the parties in other states is to conscript a handful of delegates to a state convention and ratify the inevitable choice. Caucuses are great for this. And the states like them because they don’t have to pay for a real primary. This is the crucial point. Caucuses have nothing to do with recapturing the spirit of the New England town meeting. They exist because they cost the states nothing. And you get what you pay for."

Whatever

My room is flooded. Everything is flooded. Carpet is soaked. Mold impending.

Fuck this and anything similar.
"How Sticky is Membership on Facebook? Just Try Breaking Free"

Notice, without a sense of irony:

"“I thought it was kind of strange that they save your information without telling you in a really clear way,” said Magnus Wallin, a 26-year-old patent examiner in Stockholm who founded a Facebook group, “How to permanently delete your facebook account.” The group has almost 4,300 members and is steadily growing."

This can't mean good things.

Neat.

"In a fast-paced day of striking contrasts, Mr. Obama showed new confidence as he soaked up the roar of his crowds, drawing an audience the campaign estimated at 18,000 people to a convention center here...

Mrs. Clinton, meanwhile, replaced Patti Solis Doyle, who led her campaign since it began last year and whom she regarded almost as an adopted daughter...

But Maine is a caucus state, and Mr. Obama has won almost all caucuses, which depend on deep organization and a passionate following...

On top of it all, Mr. Obama beat out Bill Clinton for a Grammy, winning the spoken word award for the audio-book version of his memoir, “The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream."

Cool.

I have no idea who won last night. Jezebel has by far the best analysis of Super Tuesday that I have found so far.
NYT's Caucus blog does has a good round up of analysis here. And there are apparently about 120 votes keeping Obama from winning New Mexico at this point.

I need to get out with my camera but the weather is decidedly miserable.
Hoping for a snow day and not one of those bull shit delays.

So I like books and I also like spending very little money, so when I saw this David McCullough book for 2 dollars at Borders I bought it even though I don't like the guy's books, mainly because he is popular. I thought maybe because it was one of his less popular ones that it might hold some promise.

Then I read that David McCullough is one of Karl Rove's fav's. I think I may burn this one. He also apparently loves America so I might stop doing that too. He also said he likes Ray Bradbury what the fuck?

Quick!

Let us speed some reactionary gun control half measure through Congress in response!
Make sure it has a catchy, yet over zealous acronym. Like the PATRIOT Act only less awful in substance.

Also, it is good that cops have earmuffs it must really help with the radio.
